Van Persie will move to United... if he can match Rooney on £220,000-a-week

Robin van Persie's move to Manchester United could hinge on the Arsenal star being paid the same amount of money as Wayne Rooney.
The Red Devils' frontman earns around £220,000-a-week at the moment while Van Persie has snubbed a three-year contract offer of £130,000-a-week from the Gunners.
Van Persie would like to move to Old Trafford to add some more trophies to his sparse collection - his last trophy was the FA Cup in 2005 - but wants to match Rooney's wages, according to the Sunday Express.

Arsene Wenger wants £30million for the 28-year-old but neither United or Juventus or Manchester City, the other sides in for him, are willing to pay that much because he will soon be 29 and his contract expires at the end of the season.
Roberto Mancini has expressed his frustration with the money-men at City for their inaction over his target but the club chiefs want the boss to sell unwanted strikers before they buy more.
Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor are not needed while both Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez have been rumoured as possible players who could make way for Van Persie.

Some good news for Arsenal is that their pursuit of Santi Cazorla is coming to an end.
Wenger expects the club to pick up Malaga's creative midfielder for around £15m by Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old is highly rated across Europe and his signing is somewhat of a coup.
Along with Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, he will go some way to replacing the hole left by Van Persie, should he get his wish.
